Art Auctions & Fun at Chattahoochee Elementary

What a day it was at Chattahoochee Elementary in honor of the Gadsden Arts COLLECT Select Exhibition and Sale this past January! Museum Educator, Kaiyla Thompson brought the excitement of bidding to the students, giving them the chance to participate with their hard-earned fake money. The bidding was focused on the Creative Futures Council’s Leftovers exhibition, which was on display from January 11 to February 1. The bids varied wildly, ranging from an impressive $1,000,000,000 to just 55 cents! The kids couldn’t stop talking about their favorite pieces, with comments like, “It’s the best out of all of them,” “I like “I want her to be my sister,” and “It’s so cool.” It was a fun, interactive way for the young students to engage with art and develop their appreciation for creativity. We love how the youth have inspired the children, sparking their imaginations and encouraging them to see art in a new light!
