Julie Torres: Generations

Julie Torres: Generations presents work by Julie Miller Torres, lawyer-turned-artist who grew up in Tallahassee. Torres practiced law for five years before returning to art school to realize her dream. Combining her love of law and art, she explores ideas of freedom and empowerment. A powerful work by Torres titled Super Diva, portraying Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, is part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Permanent Collection.

Join us for a public reception on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 5pm–7:30pm. Meet the artist and hear a special presentation by Jacob Eisler, Ph.D., who will explore democracy and the enduring impact of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Dr. Eisler is a Harvard graduate who teaches Constitutional Law at the FSU College of Law. Admission is free for members and children, $3 for adult students, and $5 for adults.

Support for this program is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, celebrating NEA America250: Arts Projects Honoring the National Garden of American Heroes.
