Gadsden Arts Field Trips
Gadsden Arts invites educators to engage students in curriculum topics through art. Each school tour is led by an experienced docent and explores the galleries, teaching students to examine art critically followed by a hands-on activity. Exhibitions change quarterly so we recommend reviewing the current exhibitions before scheduling a tour.
Field trips are available on Thursdays and Fridays from 10 am—5 pm. If you would like to schedule a school tour, please contact Kaiyla Thompson, Museum Educator, at (850) 627-5023.
Art in Schools
Every week during the school year, a Gadsden Arts Educator goes out to partner schools to lead interpretive and art-making activities that are based on art in the museum’s major exhibitions. These weekly classes build students’ visual literacy, interpretive thinking, self-esteem, and problem solving skills. Once per semester, every student comes into Gadsden Arts for a field trip. They experience original art first-hand, make art in a studio, and learn to use museums for lifelong enrichment.
To bring Art in Schools to your students, contact our Executive Director, Grace Robinson at (850) 627-5020 or grace@gadsdenarts.org.
