The Gadsden Arts Center & Museum Internship Program provides real world work and learning experiences for college juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates in the arts management, art education, marketing and graphic design, museum studies, and related areas of study. Working under the supervision of the Executive Director, Curator of Exhibitions, or Education Director, interns assist with the daily tasks that culminate in the Museum's exhibitions, education and outreach programs, and also develop special individually designed projects. This experience helps to build interns' skill sets, problem solving skills and resumés, with letters of recommendation available for all successful Internship Program graduates.
Internships are offered in the fall, spring, and summer to coincide with the academic year, are limited in availability, and are awarded based on the candidate's skills, abilities, interests, and dedication to the program. Interns may earn college credit and practicum experience (as arranged by the intern with the appropriate college advisor). Required commitment: 8 hours/week minimum.
