Summer Art Camp

Summer is just around the corner!

We can't wait to welcome back Summer Art Campers and their families for an exciting season of brand new themes and activities!  Mondays - Fridays from 9:00am - 12:00pm, campers ages 6-12 are invited to join the Art Explorers! We will art-venture through time and space creating exciting, messy projects along the way!

Members of Gadsden Arts receive $10 off each session. 

Gadsden Arts offers partial or full scholarship assistance to 50% of campers every year. Help create a fun summer for a child with your contribution! ($75 funds one week of camp for one child.) Donate a scholarship here

The ArtZone & Art@Home Kits!

Art Zone

The ArtZone

The ArtZone is a drop-in art studio for visitors of all ages to come in and get creative! Each month features exciting special projects inspired by our current exhibitions and a visual scavenger hunt! Come explore painting, printmaking, drawing, collage, & so much more!

ArtZone Hours

The ArtZone is FREE and open to the public every Saturday, 10am-5pm. 

The Art Zone is available for private reservations on Friday afternoons. Email to make a reservation! Please make reservations at least one week in advance.


Want to bring home some inspiration? Pick up a free Art@Home kit in the ArtZone, and keep the creativity rolling! These kits contain various art materials and art project ideas for you to get creative at home! The ArtZone and Art@Home kits are free to all, thanks to our generous Art for Children sponsors!

Marbleized Paper

Another fun Art @ Home with Gadsden Arts! This time we're making marbleized paper. You'll need: a tray, shaving cream, food coloring, a fork, a ruler (plastic works best), and paper. Watch the video for step-by-step instructions. #MuseumFromHome

Big Bend Quilt Trail

Get inspired by the #BigBendQuiltTrail to make your own geometric quilt block designs. You can use magazines, construction paper, or newspapers as your paper and design a quilt block onto our template! Stop Motion Animation

Create your own stop motion animation video! This instructional video comes with lots of great tips for making your own stop motion animation. Special thank you to Carter Nelson for creating this whole video for us. 

Carter uses iMotion to create his stop motion video, and provides helpful tips and tricks plus two sample videos and behind the scenes of making them!

The ArtReach program partners directly with schools to bring high quality, hands-on art lessons into classrooms, free of charge. Currently, we partner with two local elementary schools, bringing exciting creative play to Gadsden County children every week!

Teen Art Council

Gadsden Arts Teen Art Council is a group of teens who work with staff to develop programs for teens, by teens! Teen Art Ambassadors learn about exhibitions at the museum, develop art skills, learn about careers in the arts, build their resume, and share programs for young people with the community! Our 2021-22 Teen Art Council worked with 16 amazing Teen Ambassadors from five high schools across Gadsden and Leon counties. 

The application for our Fall 2022 Teen Art Council will open this August, 2022. 

Student Art Competition 2022

The 2021 Student Art Competition

was organized by our amazing Teen Art Council this year. The Teen Ambassadors took inspiration from the Fall exhibition, Women Artists: Four Centuries of Creativity, to come up with the competition's theme, Nostalgia. Leon and Gadsden County high school students were invited to create 2-dimensional artworks representing their idea of NostalgiaSpecial thanks to the competition judges: Eluster Richardson, Carey Fee, and Doby Flowers.

Help celebrate the Student Art Competition winners at the closing reception on March 11th from 6:00-8:00 pm!
