Day two you will learn how to mix, choose and apply colors that captivate your viewer. Kathleen works with various levels of students, but some painting experience is needed. This class will be taught in oils. Download the flyer here.
In this engaging 3-day workshop, participants will discuss a number of topics including the “basics” of painting (such as materials and paint handling), the fundamentals of composition, color, value, edges, and perspective. The workshop will also include a short painting demo by Dan each day with explanation of his process along the way. Participants will have the opportunity to apply the fundamentals learned from discussion through painting quick studies from still life as well as from reference photographs. One-on-one individual instruction will be provided throughout the workshop. This workshop will teach participants techniques to create an artistic painting beyond simply rendering a photograph in order to achieve a loose, expressive, and “painterly” painting! Please note that art supplies and materials are not included in the workshop fee. A suggested supply list will be provided with registration. Download the flyer here.
