All Master Artist Workshops take place in the 2nd Floor Woodell Family Art Studio. The studio contains adjustable height tables, wood stools and folding chairs, and a class set of table easels that all students may use. The 2nd floor can be accessed via the main staircase or elevator, and contains wheelchair-accessible restrooms. For questions about accommodations, please contact Education Director Anissa Ford

Workshop Lodging

Out of town workshop attendees are invited to get a reduced room rate at the Allison House Inn. The Allison House Inn is a Bed & Breakfast located just 2 short blocks away (within walking distance). Workshop attendees must call the Allison House Inn directly for discount, and mention that you are a workshop attendee. Currently, the special rate is $95 per night, and includes breakfast.

Alexa Kleinbard: Piecing Together the Natural World Through Collage

March 7, 2020

Tuition: $70 members, $80 nonmembers

Registration Deadline: February 8

Join exhibiting artist Alexa Kleinbard for two 2-hour sessions in the art of collage. Kleinbard’s artistic work is devoted to addressing issues surrounding the ongoing degradation and destruction of our natural environment. She has studied animals and plants in their native environment for decades, producing strikingly unique and beautiful images that comment on the natural world. Using nature magazines, printed photographs, oil pastels, and paint, participants will make their own nature collage, with demonstrations and assistance from artist Alexa Kleinbard. Interested in offering a workshop?

Download our workshop proposal form and submit it to our Education Director, Anissa Ford. Please note, at this time we cannot offer oil painting workshops in our studio.


Workshop Policies

  • Workshops are conditional upon minimum enrollment. If the workshop does not meet the minimum enrollment, students' tuition will be fully refunded. 
  • Enrollment is granted on a first-come, first-serve basis, in order of paid registration. A confirmed spot in the workshop is only available when full payment is made. 
  • Cancellation Policy: Partial refunds for cancellations within 30 days of the workshop date will be provided only in cases of illness or emergency. The partial refund will be the amount paid less direct costs per participant incurred by the Gadsden Arts Center & Museum. Cancellations prior to the 30-day deadline will incur a $30 cancellation fee. Special works may have a 60-day cancellation deadline. Check each individual workshop flyer for details.
